  • Rabobank chooses luminous textile with print

    Philips’ OneSpace luminous ceiling predicted by Isaac Asimov 50 years ago
    Amsterdam The Netherlands- Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), the global leader in lighting, will reveal an innovative luminous panel that can cover a whole ceiling with homogenous white light. The panel will be displayed at Light + Building, the world’s biggest trade fair for lighting and building services technology in Frankfurt (March 30 – April 4, 2014).

  • A royal opening of the new ISS headquarters

    ISS celebrated the opening of the new global head office with customers, employees and prominent guests. HRH Crown Prince of Denmark officially inaugurated the building.

    Designed by Dissing+Weitling, this circular installation at the ISS headquarters in Copenhagen features a combination of Philips luminous textile panels and Kvadrat Soft Cells. In total, 31 luminous textile panels have been installed on the outside of this multi-purpose space, whereas Kvadrat Soft Cells have been implented on the inside of the space. This installation is the biggest luminous textile installation globally, covering 66 m².

  • The future of retail lighting design

    Philips has developed an innovative concept, in collaboration with Nordsjællands Hospital and Wavecare ApS, where soothing tones, changing coloured lighting and imagery on the wall will create a calming and stimulating ambience for the benefit of women in labour, their families and the medical staff. The maternity ward at Nordsjællands Hospital has opened today two brand-new facilities known as “sensory birthing rooms”. In future, they will provide the setting for the births of some babies delivered at the hospital.

  • Light Beats 2013, Wismar, Germany

    10 students, 1 bridge, 2 facades, 3 dimensions and luminous textile panels
    A light collaboration between Philips and students in architectural lighting design

    This summer ten students of Wismar college designed an installation entitled "Light Beats". It is an exploration of the relationship between light and different cultures via several types of music. The lighting concept was implemented with innovative LED technology and with the support of the lighting partners, providing technical expertise and equipment. It’s offered the opportunity to play with a translucent glass façade on two floors, a terrace, a footbridge and a glass façade to the ground floor.

  • Fashion Specifier Contact Tour, Germany

    This summer, 10 fashion specifier offices were in a fierce creative competition to create content for luminous textile panels, as part of the Philips DACH Fashion Specifier Contact Tour. On 9 September, the top 3 offices were invited to restaurant Piet Hein Eek in Eindhoven to share their experiences and attend the award ceremony. This award for best content was won by lighting design agency JackBeNimble, with their entry called “Sweeping Moments”.

  • The Revolving Room wins Best Installation award Repubblica!

    We are proud to announce that ‘The Revolving Room’ won an award from Repubblica for best installation! The Revolving Room, an installation by acclaimed designer, Patricia Urquiola, was to be seen during Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Milan 2013. It celebrated Kvadrat’s first textile collection with Urquiola, presenting her new armchair for Moroso which was upholstered in the new fabrics. These fabrics also featured on the luminous textile panels ceating a dynamic, abstract and vibrant environment.

  • Architectenbal 2013

    The ‘Architectenbal’ is an annual event where the award ‘De Gouden AAP’ is granted to the best architect. On 20 April more than 1000 architects gathered at the ’Beurs van Berlage’ to find out who would take the prize this year. The proud winners of this prestigious award went to ‘Universiteit van Amsterdam/Vrije Universiteit’ and ‘Mecanoo architecten’. Our partner, LiNK art, installed 5 panels for the event which enjoyed excellent visibility. Artist Ruud Landfemeijer (The Blue Noise Department) created art-on-the-spot, which he showcased on the panels.   • Launch DiscoverMe LTP app

    The Philips 'DiscoverMe LTP' app is now available in both iTunes and Google Play Stores. Use the DiscoverMe LTP app to discover luminous textile panels (LTP's) in a network. The app will automatically forward you to the Web UI (user interface), which is presented in the panel. Via this interface you can control your panels and change a room's ambience at the push of a button.
